A decade later, Baker had earned a solid reputation within the marine industry and with a long list of clients who had relied on him for yacht brokerage & service needs. Chris drove to Jupiter on news the Azar's were thinking about selling The Bluffs Marina. He entered into talks with the family. Subsequent to these talks, Baker formed CCB Investors Assets Management, LLC in 1999. This Florida based holding company was created for the specific intent to acquire The Bluffs Marina portfolio from Wilfred Azar. That same year Azar sold Baker:
At the time of this transaction, twenty four (24) condominium boat slips located in The Bluffs Marina were privately owned by individuals other than Azar. Baker set into motion a long term plan that would ensure longevity to what was already an extremely well engineered marina facility properly suited for larger yachts. These efforts focused and continue to focus on tailoring the facility further as a destination place for boaters and yacht owners seeking out a nice, safe, quiet, friendly location to enjoy family & friends. During the last ten years, Baker has increased the CCB slip portfolio to seventy eight (78) units by A) buying back five (5) units, B) creating three (3) additional boat slips in Phase III.Today, CCB Investors Asset Management, LLC owns seventy eight (78) condominium boat slips in The Bluffs Marina facility; a total of 5,388 linear feet condominium boat space. Nineteen (19) condominium boat slips are owned by individuals other than CCB. Updated January 2012. |

Chris Baker, a Michigan transplant who grew up living on/in/around the water, moved to Florida full time in 1989 to forge a career in the marine marketplace. Wilfred Azar, now in his 70's, was getting ready to market his dockominium boat slips in The Bluffs Marina. Azar's plan was to sell twenty four (24) of the ninety four (94) slips. He would oversee the sales while his son managed the daily operations of the facility.
